What it does

Agentic storefronts put a store's products in AI channels: ChatGPT, Google AI Mode and Gemini, Microsoft Copilot, and Meta surfaces1. On Google AI Mode and Gemini, Microsoft Copilot and Meta, shoppers can buy through a Shopify-powered direct checkout without leaving the AI channel, if direct checkout is on1. ChatGPT is a referral channel: shoppers finish on the store's own checkout in an in-app browser or a new tab3. Orders appear in the Shopify admin with channel or referrer attribution1.

How it connects to your store

Built into the Shopify admin under Sales channels > Agentic1,2. Products reach AI channels through Shopify Catalog, or through the Google & YouTube channel or Google Merchant Center for Google AI Mode and Gemini1. An Agentic plan exists for businesses whose storefront is not a Shopify online store5.

  • Fees for Google AI Mode, Gemini and Meta direct checkout (their pages were not checked)
  • The price of the Agentic plan
  • How refunds work for orders placed through direct checkout

Shopify says there are no fees for selling in ChatGPT or in Microsoft Copilot's direct checkout beyond standard payment processing3,4. The Agentic plan's price is not published on the setup page5.
